Introduction:

Copenhagen is the best city modeling to lower greenhouse gas and named the best city modelled in 2019 by the World Economic Forum for its strong commitment. The countries in the lead are Denmark, Switzerland, and Finland. Many countries have a big plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions before 2050.

  • China has committed to reducing Greenhouse gas emissions by 60% to 65% from the 2005 level by the year 2030.
  • India has committed to reducing Greenhouse gas emissions by 30% to 35% from the 2005 level by the year 2030. And 40% of the electricity produced by renewable energy.
  • America has committed to reducing Greenhouse gas emissions by 26% to 28% from the 2005 level by the year 2025.
  • 197 Parties have to come out with a highly ambitious plan to combat climate change by 2025.

How many best city modeling plan to combat climate change? How much can GHGs reduce?

  • With 197 Parties, the total number of cities is more than 10,000. What is the best city modeling that can meet the Paris Agreement target and accepted by their citizens?

<<   More than 10,000 Cities will involve in the plan to combat climate change   >>

  • Copenhagen city is a bike city. The reduction of GHGs emissions calculated at 90,000 Tons per year, with a population of 1.2 million.
  • Let us make some assumptions: If the average population of 10,000 cities is 1.2 million, the same as Copenhagen city. Then each city will reduce Greenhouse gas emissions by 90,000 Tons per year. Data source links about reducing GHGs: Click here for the report.
  • If 10,000 cities willing to follow the city modeling of Copenhagen, the total amount of Greenhouse gas can reduce is calculated at 9,000,000,000 Tons per year.

  • Happy country index – ranking 3
  • Pollution index – ranking 15
  • Safety index – ranking 8

The difficulties for best city modeling using electric cars.

If electric cars used for replacing polluting vehicles:

  • To buy electric cars, citizens need to pay high investment costs. Electric cars are more expensive than gasoline cars.
  • Monthly maintenance costs for electric cars are more expensive.
  • Only a small portion of the citizens can afford to buy electric cars.
  • The city has limited space to accommodate car parking with charging facility due to the increase in number every year.
  • The local government needs a high annual budget to build more highway, car parking place, and car charging stations. The yearly budget for the electric vehicle is much higher than the yearly budget for gasoline cars.
  • The city has no space for building parks for citizens and tourists.
  • Citizens have little place for relaxing and sporting if the city is still car-dominated.
  • A car-dominated city is not the best city model for citizens.

Electric cars made of steel are a significant cause of global warming.

  • New material with low heat absorption is still not available for building a fast car.
  • A coating for car steel to prevent heat absorption is still not available yet.

The best city modeling has reduced Greenhouse gas to the minimum for people’s health and nature survivor.

The impact of Greenhouse gas on our health is bad.

  • Extreme heat contributes directly to cardiovascular deaths and respiratory disease.
  • High temperatures also reduce air quality by creating more smog, pollen, and other airborne allergens—all of which can trigger asthma, which afflicts 235 million people around the world.
  • Floods can contaminate drinking water supplies, increasing the risk of water-borne diseases and illnesses spread by disease-carrying insects, such as mosquitoes.
  • Asthma, Respiratory Allergies, and Airway Diseases
  • Cancer
  • Foodborne Diseases and Nutrition
  • Human Developmental Effects
  • Mental Health and Stress-Related Disorders
  • Neurological Diseases and Disorders

Another adverse impact of greenhouse gas.

  • Extreme weather and rising seas can destroy homes, public infrastructure, and entire nature ways of life.
  • Unpredictable weather patterns and water supplies can also wreak havoc on agriculture and food supplies.
  • Areas already coping with water scarcity are expected to become drier, creating the potential for drought, failed crops, or wildfires.

Conclusion:

The above mentioned is our personal opinion of the best city modeling to combat climate change in 2050. No doubt, Copenhagen take the lead to lower GHG in the earliest year than other countries.

Our article has given enough reasons to prove that Copenhagen is not only the best city modeling but also is a bike city regardless of traditional bicycles or electric bikes. In conclusion, Copenhagen is the best city modeling to lower greenhouse gas through promoting use of electric bikes by its citizens. The citizen enjoyed living in the green and best air quality city, hence improve their health and productivity.

This city modeling of Copenhagen needs a lower budget and able to achieve the best result to combat climate change before 2050 if supported by all citizens to replace gasoline vehicles by using electric bikes.

Some towns in Netherland, Switzerland, Germany, UK, Canada, Australia, the USA, Japan, and Taiwan already have a significant number of cyclists in their city.

thanks for sharing this article. i loved to read about the climate changes. i am quite amazed to see the research about future in this article. it is clear that you have researched a lot about this. city modelling is very important for the better future. without it no one can think of being developed. i also enjoyed reading the question answer form written here. it was too much fun and felt like the questions were asked to me. and indeed your article proves that the best city modelling is bike city. hope everyone realizes it soon.

i will surely share this article to my social media account so that others can know about it too.

    1. Thanks for reading and sharing with your friends. It is a great help to our site. I enclosed a link about Copenhagen to achieve zero-emissions in 2025.    zero-emission Copenhagen

Keep in touch with our site. Thank you.

  2. After living in Copenhagen for 2 years, I have to say that everything you said about it is true. Very relaxing and clean city. You can tell that people really enjoy their city and biking. Other cities can follow this example but it would take a lot of effort to change people’s mindset. How many years did Copenhagen take to become such a perfect city? I’m sure it was a slow process.

    1. Your sharing is fair and correct. The mindset of people is a big barrier. The same for Copenhagen city. They have some great men to push the public to make it. I enclosed a link for your reading. Copenhagen is a bike city.

My article not going to reach every city until it is sharing out on my Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook. Keep in touch with our site. You are most welcome.

  3. Many solutions have been offered to combat climate change: electric cars, more and better public transportation, bike use, etc. In an ideal world, we all would use bikes to go wherever we wanted to go. However, it’s not feasible everywhere. In the U.S. for example, even though several cities are bike-friendly, the truth is it’s not the norm. In Texas, where I live, the only city that’s more bike-friendly is Austin and only in certain areas like downtown.

Sadly, here we all need a car since public transportation is negligible. I think that would be the very first step for a change.

I don’t know how long the distances are in Copenhagen, but they can be really long in the U.S. Many people have to commute for long miles every day.

Thanks for bringing this up. We definitely need to do something about all this.

    1. Thanks for your sharing and concern. MRT using electricity is the leading solution for long-distance. MRT network in China is a useful model for America. America spends too much money on the military everywhere. May not have the remaining fund for the MRT network. Choose someone who cares about climate change and transport convenience for the citizen. Singaporean do not need to buy a car, can go to work by MRT. Copenhagen also uses MRT for the outside town.

America has a big land, the most concern of climate change impact is flooding, high heat wave or extreme cold temperature in New York City. Citizens of the city have to decide your city modeling in the future. Get your local government to support your dream.

  4. I was looking for an article about how to change our climate for a long time.

The biggest challenge in the present world is climate change. Our future generations will face many problems as a result of climate change. After reading this article I got to know and learn many things.
This city modeling needs a lower budget and able to achieve the best result to combat climate change before 2030. I think in our country also try to follow this method. By applying this formula we can make our environment a better fit for the next generation.
Many thanks to the author of the article for his article I have benefited greatly by reading this. I think who read this article will benefit greatly.
Once again, Thanks again for sharing this informative post. I will share the post with others. 😊

  5. It is easy to see that you’re passionate about environmental issues. Although I can’t fault your arithmetic with the potential for savings on CHGs, you don’t give a reference for your claim: “reduction of Greenhouse gas emissions calculated at 90,000 Tons per year, with a population of 1.2 million”, meaning that you just want the reader to take your word for it.

In the section on the comparisons of Bogota and Copenhagen, I would question your choice of a comparative city to Copenhagen. I live in the UK in the midlands, near the town of Milton Keynes, which was designed from the bottom-up to be a car-friendly town. It has beautiful, wide-open green spaces and lots and lots of trees; it looks nothing like Bogota and in many respects, looks far more interesting and inviting than Copenhagen (from the picture above, anyway). On top of that, you pose four questions, but then answer it yourself! How is that not a polemic?

I think that when we are really passionate about something, we must be careful to guard our passions and present our best arguments in a fair and balanced manner, citing references whenever possible, and giving the visitor every chance to fall in love with our ideas. I recognise and applaud your passion, but I wonder if you agree with me now that you could have chosen a different tone to greater effect?

    1. Thank you for your genuine feedback to me. I appreciated your teaching. For 90,000 tons of gas emission from 600,000 drivers are only 150 Kgs per driver only. Can a car drive one year with 300 liters per year? The attached file is the data source of gas emission reduction for Copenhagen. From 2005 to 2017, gas emission dropped is 1.37 million tons. One year is average at 97,857 Tons. Good teaching to me, I will attach a data source link for verifying my data.

Bogota is the car-dominated city. England’s land is significant, with less population, so it is not a car-dominated city. Copenhagen is picked for city modeling city because, in 2019, it is in the top list for living index. I have inserted the image into the content. Copenhagen has an ambitious plan to achieve zero-emissions in 2025 and recognized by UNFCCC. Attached link for your reading.

England can build many parks with billion of trees to combat climate change. With building parks as the solution is helping to cool your localized area only, the bad thing is you are still releasing carbon dioxide to the global. This solution is not solving greenhouse emissions, and global warming will hit every country, including England.

My conclusion does not say that another solution will not work. I know humans prefer the freedom to choose. Frankly speaking, zero-emissions to air is the only best solution.

zero-emission by 2025     answer for 90,000 Tons and why choose Copenhagen as best city modeling.

  6. Helooo, Thanks for writing on such an interesting article it’s been really educating.

The truth is greenhouse gas emmision has really caused so much damage to the earth’s atmosphere and climate at large so using city modeling of Copenhagen can reduce a large tons of greenhouse gas effect and will be of more advantages to man existence generally.

    1. Thank you for sharing and the good support given to us. Enclosed a link for your reading regarding Copenhagen to achieve zero emissions in 2025.zero emissions     Keep in touch.

  7. You present an overwhelmingly convincing argument for cities to transition to a Copenhagen-like model based on maximum use of bikes and I guess that would include both push bikes and electric bikes. Just a few observations of issues that would need to be handled in navigating such a transition.

A mixture of bikes with cars with pedestrians is hazardous. So is a mix of just bikes and pedestrians as collisions still happen and can be fatal. A safe environment for users of all transport types is best provided when maximum separation is achieved between the routes used by each.

I found the model adopted in many Dutch cities to work extremely well. The bike lanes have a completely separate network from cars which are forced to drive around the outsides rather than through areas and in most cases the bike lanes have more direct routes to where you need to get. This means as a bike rider you have a completely different experience of the city than you do if you drive into it. That is something cities can achieve when they are designed from scratch that way.

Some European cities have experienced an explosion of rental electric bike services. You sign up with an app that lets you locate a bike nearby that someone else recently dropped off. It means that electric bikes are everywhere cluttering up sidewalks etc and are a major irritation and obstacle for other sidewalk users particularly persons with disabilities. The conclusion here is that cities need to plan these transitions carefully.

Another observation is that two wheels is not going to work safely for everyone. There will have to be some three or even four wheel variants. They can be equally lightweight and efficient.

Generally though I agree this is right on the money. Thanks for an insightful and compelling article. Best regards Andy

    1. Dutch is the number one bikes country in the world with a large number of cyclist networks. I am fully aware of this information. Which country to achieve zero-emission before 2025 is either Dutch or Danes only.

Your sharing information is precious to me. A separate bicycle lane is required. Electric bike’s speed has to be limited by law. Three wheels needed for the family. Four wheels needed for commercial.

Tradition bicycle and electric bikes can be mixed-use based on personal needs and liking. Your inputs help my article to clear many doubts that can be raised by other readers.

Thank you very much for your comment and support for our website.

      1. Thanks Stephen. This is a very important debate. We have to make the most of practical routes to achieving massive emissions reductions. As you point out – the answers are there. Administrators, planners and most importantly politicians just have to look for what works and do it. Best of luck to you.
